Southern Classic Series Cross Country Race at Uwharrie National Forest

Troy, NC – This weekend’s kick off to the Southern Classic Series saw a great turn out in the Uwharrie National Forest. The weather was hot and so was the action. In the Pro race, Inland Construction riders tried to cram in one last race before they head off to the first NORBA National of the year in Phoenix, AZ. Daniel Corum spent the majority of the race in fourth place, but faded at the end to fall back to 6th. Matt Rotroff had a solid ride, in what he hopes is the beginning of his best season ever. Despite a slow start, the junior rider was able to work his way up to a very respectable 8th place in the Pro/ Expert Men’s field, just behind local cyclocross legend Andy Applegate.

This weekend, Charlie Pendry, Daniel Corum, and Matt Rotroff are off to Fountain Hills, AZ to compete in the first race of the National Mountain Bike Series. Other Back To Dirt club members are heading off to race the Knobscorcher in Bryson City, NC.
