Inland Construction at Reston UCI Cyclocross

Inland Construction’s Charlie Storm won the Reston UCI Men’s Elite Cyclocross Race on Sunday. Inland’s Storm, rode his Frank’s Cyclery tuned Fuji/Shimano cross bike in a lead group of four riders until he made his move with 20 minutes remaining in the race and then rode in alone for the win. Said Storm, “once I came off of that long descent, the DT Hubs rolled like mad and I simply had to keep ‘em moving.”

The ever growing Inland Construction team, also had a host of other riders competing. Inland’s John Degele narrowly missed guiding his Fuji Cross Pro to his first ever UCI top ten, with a 11th place in the Men’s Elite field. Susan Wilson prepared herself for the upcoming Masters National Championships, with a 10th place in the women’s elite race. Inland Construction’s cross guru, Jim Edwards showed his ever improving form in the men’s 35+ event.

Next week, the Construction Crew polishes it’s form at the NC Cyclocross Series finals in Winston Salem, NC, before many of the guys and gals head to Providence Rhode Island the following week for the Cyclocross National Championships.

NC Cyclocross State Championships

Inland Construction-BTD masters riders swept the Masters State Cyclocross Championships on Sunday in Pinehurst, NC. After blazing the start Rob Moran crashed hard 20 sec into the race in the first corner allowing eventual winner and teammate John Degele to ride uncontested to First Place (Gold). Rob Moran rode hard from last, through the field, to an easy Second Place (Silver) allowing team manager, Jimmy Brunner to ride a tactical race and attack at the end for Third Pace (Bronze). Pictured below left to right are: Rob Moran (Silver), John Degele (Gold), and Jimmy Bruner (Bronze).

In the Men’s A event, Pro mountain biker, Charlie Pendry, battled alone near the front of the strongest field ever assembled for a NC series race. Pendry placed 5th, Followed by Inland Construction teammates, John Degele, and Taylor Jones who placed in 9th and 15th positions.
