NORBA National Championships 09.20.2005
Inland Construction’s Pro Mountain Bike Team members Charlie Pendry and Frank Jones, owner of Frank’s Cyclery, made the trip across the country for the last big mountain bike race of the year, the NORBA National Championships in Mammoth, CA. In the high, dry air of Mammoth, Pendry had his highest National Championship finish, placing 15th. Special thanks go to Frank for all of his endless support. Frank gave the Inland Construction team it’s 2nd straight season with no mechanical DNF’s, unheard of in mountain bike racing!
Pendry wrapped up his weekend by coming back to North Carolina to win the Hobby Park Cane Creek Series Cross Country race for the second consecutive year. Pendry will now get his training in gear to join fellow elite cross racers: Charlie Storm, Laura Bowles, Rob Moran, and John Degele along with a host of Inland teammates for a full assault on the Southeast and UCI Cyclocross schedule.
Upcoming Events
Oct 8-9: UCI Cross races, Louisville, KY and Cincinnati, OH

Inland Construction – BTD take on NC Crits 09.10.2005
Last weekend, Charlie Pendry participated in his third or forth century/tour of the year. As always, Pendry has done a good job at getting out to rides that attract a lot of riders to one event.
Holy cow. Did you see Inland Co’s Daniel Rotroff ride away from the Cat 3-4 field at the Friday night Winston Salem Criterium? Rotroff has barely been roommates with Pendry a month and some attitude must be wearing off. The 60-rider field had no reaction for Rotroff as he and another racer left the field with 8 circuits remaining. The powerful Rotroff easily out gunned his competitor in the two up sprint.
The two Charlie’s were not quite on their game in the Winston Pro 1-2 event. Last year’s runner up, Storm, settled for 9th place after the field split into several small groups. Pendry sat-in, in preparation for next weekend’s national championships XC in Mammoth, CA.
Inland’s coolest rider, Susan Wilson placed 6th in a tough Women’s field at the Elon Criterium on Saturday.
